Review: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer

I’m extremely picky about concealer. As someone who does not use liquid foundation daily, I place a lot of importance on having a good concealer. I have searched high and low for the perfect one to cover hyper pigmentation while also looking natural on the skin. A couple years ago, I actually had found one that I really liked and it was a super random one…the Revlon Age-Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer. I used this one for years and loved it. I can’t even tell you how many times I have repurchased it. But, then I noticed that many stores were not carrying it anymore and I started to get worried that it would get discontinued. Why does this always happen to me? *Sigh*

So, I decided I needed to go on the hunt again for a new concealer. I didn’t find anything that gave me the coverage I wanted at the drugstore, so I went to Sephora. I was walking around the store and this Lancome one caught my eye because it looked fairly new and had a good shade range. Pro tip: If you are wanting a concealer to cover hyper-pigmentation or blemishes, you are going to want to look for one that come in a squirt-y tube, not one that comes with a wand/doe-foot applicator. The tube packaging means that it is a thicker consistency and more pigmented. Anyway, I saw the display for this and decided to give it a try. I tried it on the back of my hand and the tiniest amount instantly gave flawless coverage. It was able to blend out nicely but still give a natural skin-like finish. I was sold.

I tried it on my face for the very first time when I got home that day (I’m in the shade 370 W Bisque) and was floored at how it made some of my stubborn hyper pigmentation just disappear. I can’t tell you how relieved I was to just have stumbled across this. It’s definitely more expensive than my Revlon one but a very small amount goes a long way. I truly believe this will last me many, many months.

I use this concealer exclusively to cover hyper pigmentation or the occasional blemish on my face. I personally do not think that this would be great for under-eye concealing as it is quite thick and will probably settle into fine lines. I like to apply this with a (clean) finger and blend it out in small patting motions. Rubbing the concealer will just push the product off, so always just gently apply to the center of whatever you want to conceal and pat the concealer outwards to properly blend. I also find that this concealer does not oxidize which is brilliant because I have tried many that turn a weird orange-y color after awhile.

Truly cannot recommend this one enough 🙂 You can get it here.

P.S. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation as me where you have a concealer that you like which matches your skin well, take it with you when you go shopping for a new one so you can have it for swatches and shade comparisons.
